Applying for Financial Aid
Steps to Completing FAFSA- www.fafsa.gov
Step 1. Apply Early for Financial Aid: -U.S. Citizens/Eligible Non-Citizen will apply on www.FAFSA.gov The Navarro College school code is 003593.
-Students admitted under House Bill 1403/Senate Bill 1528, see the Financial Aid office or go to http://www.navarrocollege.edu/financialaid/forms/ to apply for the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
Step 2. Check your status 3-5 days after applying for Financial Aid:
- Log on: selfservice.navarrocollege.edu
- Username: Enter your Navarro College user name (ex. firstname.lastname)
- New Password: Default Password is 4 digit birth year + the last 4 digits of Social Security Number (YYYYSSSS) or Ncyyyyssss! where yyyy=birth year and ssss=last 4 of social. Don’t forget the ! at the end.
Under the Financial Aid section you will find: Your Checklist for Financial Aid
My Documents: If you have any required documents, you will see Action Needed and Complete Required Documents. When you click on Complete Required Documents, you will sign in using your MyNC information. From there, you can see and fill out any documents that are needed.
Step 3. Accepting your Financial Aid Award Package:
- Complete Loan Entrance Counseling at https://studentloans.gov
- Complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) at https://studentloans.gov
- Accept or reject you loans on Self-Service at http://selfservice.navarrocollege.edu
Students who applied for financial aid will be assigned a NC email address. All future correspondence from Financial Aid will be sent by email.
